I hear the secrets that you keep.... [Feb. 4th, 2004|08:20 pm]
Talking in my sleep again.

Me: I've been on a mountain bike before.

Chris (awake): What?

Me: I've been on a mountain bike before!

Note: I have never been on a mountain bike.

Last Night [Feb. 3rd, 2004|02:47 pm]
In the dream, Chris and I are watching a video a guy we know has made. I don't know who the guy is. I don't know him in real life. Anyway, the video is excellent. Despite not liking the guy AT ALL, we decide with a sigh that we must have him do our wedding video. He's sort of a friend, so he'll do it free. But we really just don't like him. Chris says "God, I never thought that he would be at our wedding. This SUCKS. But we really need that video."

An epic dream [Jan. 31st, 2004|10:54 pm]
Again, I should have typed it while it was fresh.

Chris and I go to the bank. My doctor is there behind the counter. I deposit some money, but they tell me they're taking a "service charge" off the deposit. Of course I'm pissed and give them a piece of my mind. We end up leaving and walking into a parking garage. There's an escalator, but it's sort of circular. The room we're in is dark, but they are small red lights along the ceiling. We stop on one floor and run into a mob of what appear to be large stuffed animals. But really they're somehow dangerous and we dive in to fight them with swords. Chris kicked some ass. I was pretty good, too.

Last night [Jan. 28th, 2004|09:52 pm]
Background: Somehow, watching VH1 try to reunite Extreme played into my dream last night. One of the band members is now an alpaca farmer. I wish I would have typed this dream this morning. It remained vivid for a while, but of course has faded now.

The dream: One of those really long dreams. Usually my dreams jump around, but not this time. In the dream, Chris and I are looking at a house. Except we're not us. I don't know who we are. The house we're looking at is really tiny on the outside but HUGE inside. Eventually Chris/whoever he is in the dream disappears, but I don't really notice. He doesn't make another appearance in the dream. The house is totally sweet. There's a huge whirlpool tub in the bathroom. It actually takes up most of the room and there's a waterfall in the center. This woman shows up, and it turns out she can morph into an animal. She tries to kill me but changes her mind and befriends me once she finds out I can turn into a cat. We decide to open an alpaca farm. It's in the middle of nowhere and highly successful. Then my point of view starts to jump around between two women. One is married to this guy who works on the farm. The other is another cat/woman who is having an affair with the guy the first woman is married to. They sneak off while she's busy overseeing all the action on the farm. At one point I'm the cat/woman, seducing the married farmer dude. We go into a shed. The wife is right outside. I'm her for a second. And then I'm suddenly this other chick, trying to divert the attention of the married woman. The shed is rocking back and forth, and I'm trying to make up stories about some problems with the animals.

I know that would have made more sense if I would have typed it this morning. Not like I had much else to do.

Another scary dream [Jan. 27th, 2004|09:00 am]
The dream: Chris was having some strange procedure done. A man explained it to his mother and then handed her a bowl of eels. He walked away after telling her to get started. I just stood there wondering what the hell was going on, a little afraid of what would happen with this important and life-threatening procedure in her hands. She started out tentatively with one eel, then got into it. I walked out of the room, too disturbed to watch. I ran back when I heard screaming. She had screwed up and had to cut something out of his skin. I started yelling at her to just stop, but she wouldn't. I woke up grinding my teeth.

Two nights ago [Jan. 25th, 2004|11:10 am]
More talking in my sleep. This time I mumbled a bit and then said "There are too many people in this bed!"

Also a scary dream. My brother was home from Thailand and I went outside to greet him. For some reason we were at my old house. He was getting out of this big SUV. I started to run over to give him a hug. Then a plane flew overhead and started bombing our house and the car. It was really fucking scary. I was screaming at him to run, screaming at him to duck. I don't know what happened after that -- I think I forced myself out of the dream and awake.

[feeling a bit | amused]

I haven't been able to remember any dreams the past two nights, but apparently I was talking in my sleep two nights ago. Chris says I kept sighing heavily and at one point said "Just put it over there. Yes, that will be fine."

Haha!

Stupid crap dream:

I dreamed I overslept and was running incredibly late to get to the school I'm student teaching at. I was trying so hard to get everything together, and people kept yelling at me that I was going to be late. I kept thinking I'd be able to make it, but eventually all I could do was stand there and cry.

Of course, after having this dream I was wide awake and unable to sleep for fear of oversleeping as I had in the dream. How irritating.

Last Night [Jan. 13th, 2004|10:20 am]
The Dream: I'm telling someone about a favorite teacher. Then I tell the person about going to school one day and finding that the teacher had forgotten to put on his underwear and pants. There he is, walking around the room, teaching his lesson, with his penis just hanging there. He's wearing a shirt, jacket, and tie, but that's it. The students are all laughing at him, but he doesn't know why. It's making him very nervous, but nobody will tell him why they're all laughing.

Last Night [Jan. 12th, 2004|11:02 am]
Two weird dreams.

Dream One: I'm in a strange house. It feels like I'm in a video game. The first thing I remember is walking up a winding staircase with two companions. We are there to fight the evil that has taken hold of the house. When we get there, it is really fucking scary. Apparently when we were children we had this scary episode in a bedroom, so the fight has taken the form of that episode. Eventually we kill the beast, though it is very difficult. We are walking back down, relieved, when weird things start happening again. It's not over, and now there are all these fights going on all over the house, which is huge and ornately decorated. My memory of the dream is very patchy, but I remember nearly drowning in a huge pool in the middle of the house and later having a fight in which I threw knitting needles at this one scary woman. When she fell, she rose back up and could spit knitting needles at me.

Dream Two: I am not me. I am with a family that is supposed to be my family. We are outside a vacation lodge in the snow. My uncle can't handle a snowball fight, so our intelligent dog makes and tosses light snowballs to him for a game of catch. Some men come along dressed like hunters. I run down the hill with my mother, alternately with a little boy. The men come down to us, and we threaten to scream. They say that no one will hear us, and point up to where the bodies of my uncle and another man are lying dead. The men don't like the fact that we "force" the dog to do things like making the snowballs for us. We try to explain that the dog likes it and even suggested it, but they don't want to hear it. Later I'm another member of the family, one looking for the missing members, and I'm in a bar. I hear a newscast about a woman and a little boy being murdered in the snow. Someone nearby makes a joke involving the dog. I don't say anything, but want to kill her because she's making jokes about my tragically dead family.

The first one was really scary. The second one was scary when I was being chased, but was seriously goofy. A dog making snowballs? Men being angry about it and murdering a whole family over it? Whaaaa?

Last Night [Jan. 11th, 2004|11:24 am]
[feeling a bit | amused]

It was one of those nights in which I have a lot of little dreams. I don't remember much about them...

The Dream: I was trying to get Chris to fool around with me, but he said he wasn't in the mood for sex. Instead he started spreading ranch dip on my legs and alternately licking it off and scraping it off with corn chips and eating it. That's about all I remember.

Last night [Jan. 9th, 2004|11:08 am]
[feeling a bit | calm]

Background: Tomorrow morning I'll be taking an important test -- the Praxis II. It's for my teaching certification. My Aunt Stephanie lives in Catonsville in Maryland. I've been friends with Kristin since elementary school and friends with Kate since college. The two don't know each other.

The dream: I'm packing for a trip with some friends. I only pack shirts and pants. Apparently we're about to leave and I've put off packing to the last minute. We leave and I start worrying that I have forgotten something. I realize I have no shoes, underwear, or toiletry items. The scene shifts. For some reason I'm spending the night at Aunt Stephanie's house, though it's not the same house she has in real life. I've been playing with someone's dog in the backyard. The dog keeps doing something strange, but now I can't remember what it was. I go inside and see that it's 3:30 in the afternoon. I check my cell phone and see I have 8.67 messages. The phone will only let me listen to 3 of them and erases the rest. In a panic, knowing there is something important in those messages, I spend the next half hour trying to retrieve them. No luck.

The doorbell rings. Kate runs into the house and tells me to get all of my things together. Kristin has decided we're all going to Disney World. Our plane leaves in a half hour. I gather the things I need. I tell my aunt that my mother will pick up the rest of my things, as they won't fit in Kate's car -- a sleeping bag and a huge foam pad like one that would be used in gymnastics. I spot a shopping bag in the room -- gifts from my aunt. They're all wedding-related -- teddy bears wearing veils and visors with veils attached. I briefly contemplate taking the visor with the veil to wear on the trip, but decide against it. I hop into the car with Kate, Kristin, and someone else, but I'm not sure who. The car is absolutely packed. I spend the rest of the car ride worrying about the Praxis II, because in my dream I have to take it the next morning. I turn a piece of paper over and over in my hands, looking for a number to call. I want to find out if it will cost anything to take the test in Florida before going to Disney World.
